In the framework of the project Archeomedsites, cofinanced by the ENPI CBC MED 2007-2013 program, three seminars entitled “The illegal traffic of cultural heritage: the experience of the Carabinieri for the Protection of Cultural Heritage”, give the way to an autumn full of activities, respectively, in Cagliari October the 1st at the Cittadella dei Musei – Aula Rossa, in Sassari October the 2nd at the Aula Magna of the University – Piazza Università, in Paestum October 30th at the National Archaeological Museum as part of the Borsa Mediterranea del turismo archeologico. The initiative, strongly supported by the Ministry for cultural Heritage and activities and for Tourism, through the Office Contemporary Architecture and Art of PaBAAC, lead partner of the project, in collaboration with the project partners, assumes a significance as timely as ever on the subject of illegal traffic of cultural heritage at the international level. Issues discuss, among other, will be “Cross-border cooperation as a tool for the enhancement of the cultural heritage: the project ARCHEOMEDSITES” and “Issues concerning the protection of areas of archaeological interest and activities of CCTPC dealing with the illicit excavation and hold upon the cultural heritage belonging to the State”, experiences and testimonies in situ. Experts will be present, including, Michele Colavito, Archeomedsites Project Manager, Cap. Carmine Elefante, the Carabinieri for the protection of the cultural heritage of Naples, Cap. Paolo Montorsi Carabinieri for the protection of the cultural heritage of Sassari, Adele Campanelli, Archaological Superintendent of the Provinces of SA, AV, BN, CE, Marina Cipriani, Director of Museum and Archaeological Area of Paestum, Maria Tommasa Granese, Director of Archaeological Area of Velia, Giovanna Pietra, Elena Romoli, Archaeological Superintendency of Cagliari and Oristano, academics, representatives of international institutions.
